Friday Night Workshop Registration 6:30pm - Workshop 7-10pm
Technique " Hosseny Style" Learn some of his signature moves that will be used in combos over the weekend! This will give you an introduction to his body of work. Mohamed is well known to choreograph complex shows ~see how simple some of his secret steps are ! Some Travel steps, and in place isolations that he utilizes often will be broken down. Mohamed El Hosseny is a very approachable artist that will answer your questions and be delighted to teach you ! This evening will consist of Combo and Technique!
Open Levels~All dancers will enjoy this and dance well at their own level!
Saturday morning Registration 9:30am - Workshop 10am-12pm Break
Pop Balady with Mohamed El Hosseny of Egypt 2 hrs
Using the popular Haifa Wahby's music (she is a Lebanese model, actress, and singer who rose to fame in the Arab world) Mohamed will show us how to relax and enjoy a choreography & combinatios to more recent Pop music. We will draw upon both tradtional and modern movements for this lovely choreography!
Open Levels~All dancers will enjoy this and dance well at their own level!
Saturday afternoon 12:30pm-2:30pm
Fakarouni “Ulm Kalsoum” 2 hrs on More than three decades after her death, she is still recognized as one of the Arab world's most famous and distinguished singers of the 20th century! Not just anyone can work with her music! Mohamed El Hosseny will review her music "interprete it" and make it managable (which is very complex in every way) and teach an elegant portion of this choreography to this "must know piece" for any serious student of this art form!
Level is Intermediate Everyone is welcome but the focus will be intermediate .

Sha'abi with Mohamed El Hosseny of Egypt -2Hrs
This class will offer fun & flirty movements with a translation of the lyrics! Showing us how the two go hand in hand with gestures used in the culture that one would only understand from living in Egypt! Mohamed will break down the techniques he utilizes which are derived from street dancing!
(Sha'abi is the name of a style of living, a style of dance, & a style of music! The word is Egyptian Arabic & refers to the poorer, commoner sections of the city. An English equivalent might be "ghetto." The name came to characterize the style of music enjoyed in such neighborhoods. The style is somewhat rougher & more playful than the rest of Egyptian pop music. Naturally, the style of dance acquired the name "sha'abi”).

Simsimaya ! Folkloric introduction to Suez Folklore! - 2 hrs
You will be clapping and dancing in no time ! See how much fun and energetic this music and dance tradition from Port Said is! Dancing this since childhood it is so easy for him like he is breathing air!
Spoons will be available for sale!

Mohamed El Hosseny joined the famous Egyptian Reda Troupe in 1992. During his career as a dancer, he performed all solo parts also with Mahmoud Reda's private dance company, among them the male solo in the Rubabikiya operette in 1999. Besides Egyptian folk dances, Hosseny also studied ballet and performed with the ballerina Diana Calenti for several years. Also featured in many TV-shows, he got to be known to the Egyptian audience as the #1 male dancer of Egypt! Hosseny's repertoire includes both Egyptian folkloric styles and traditional as well as modern Oriental dance. He masters all commonly known Egyptian folk dances, from Saidi to Alexandrian, Nubian to Fellahi, and naturally Simsimiyya, which is in his blood as he has danced it since his childhood in his hometown Suez.
