Shimmy Layering Experiments
Strong shimmies are characterized by clean, even movement, and consistency that can be sustained for long periods of time. In this class, we will experiment through drills, imagery, and combinations to improve your hip work. There will be a break down of multiple types of shimmies and layering options. All levels welcome as long as they are ready for a intense work-out! Come explore what type of shimmy works best for you!

SABRINA FOX ~~ Tribal ! Tribal !
WORKSHOP: 2:00pm-5:00pm
Rhythmic Stylized Combos, for improvisational dance performance.
In this workshop Sabrina will teach 2-4 deeply technical Tribal fusion combos for fun and rhythmic paced performance. Each combo will be an 8 count of 8 phrase that can be easily applied to your favorite music, used in solo or group Improvisational dance, developed choreography, or home practice. Every technique within the combos will be clearly broken down and drilled until comfortably understood. Students will also be given a handout describing each combo clearly.
This is an all level workshop, beginning and advanced dancers will gain tremendous ability and insight form this workshop.
Please bring your yoga mat & water for these workshops !

Sabah Saeed ~ Bio
Sabah became a member of the Bellydance Superstars in 2006, featured in her unique combination of belly dance en pointe. This comes from Sabah's 20 years of extensive training in classical ballet mixed with her passion for belly dance. She is a former member of several prestigious dance companies including Momenta, Chicago's Festival Ballet Company and the Alabama Ballet. She has also worked with and studied at other ballet companies around the US including Boston Ballet, ABT, and Pacific Northwest Ballet on full scholarship. No stranger to the stage, Sabah was hired to perform in professional productions of the Nutcracker continuously for 12 years, working her way up from young adult to principal roles. Besides her physical training, Sabah has a degree in cultural studies from Columbia College Chicago including a study abroad year at the American University in Cairo. During that time she studied belly dance with the master teachers of Egypt and performed in AUC's Egyptian Folkloric Troupe and as a solo raqs sharqi dancer – thanks to Hallah Moustafa. Sabah was honored to be the only foreigner invited to travel with the group to France to represent Egypt in the International Folkloric Festival of 2004. Sabah is delighted to pass on her knowledge of dance in her hometown of Chicago and abroad. She particularly enjoyed her time teaching in Iceland and when Miles Copeland asked her to cross-train the exceptional dancers of BDSS with weekly Ballet classes during their three month stay in Monaco. Sabah hopes her obsession and passion for dance is passed on to whom ever crosses her path.
Sabrina Fox ~ Bio
Beginning 1981 Sabrina has been a dedicated student of dance. She has studied and is continuing her education in various styles such as Tap, Ballet, Jazz, Hip hop, West African, Afro Cuban, Modern, American Tribal Style Belly dance, Persian belly dance, and Tribal fusion belly dance
200 hour instructor’s Certificate in Vinyasa flow and first series Ashtanga yoga. Certified in Fat Chance belly dance (A.T.S.) General skills and is an avid supporter, teacher, and performer of American Tribal style belly dance since 2003. She also created and now directs Atash Maya Tribal fusion belly dance co. founded in 2003.
She is featured on the Belly Dance Super Stars Tribal Fusions DVD, is Currently teaching weekly dance and yoga classes in San Diego, and is has future dates set for workshops in San Diego, across the U.S and Europe.
Sabrina grew up in a family of dancers, spent much of her childhood backstage with her mother and father. Mother Paris born, and Father Moroccan American born were both dancers with the Paris Lido Show in France. Eventually The Lido moved that show and the dancers into the Las Vegas Casino show circuit. Naturally, Sabrina loves to dance and seeks the stage performer’s lifestyle with a passion, and as a natural way of life.
