ZiZi Zabaneh of Miami-- 9:30am-11:00am. Spanish & Arab Fusion is a dance that is traditionally danced barefoot and with a circular skirt. It incorporates dance and music elements from both Flamenco and Middle Eastern dance. One of the most popular fusions around . The workshop will deal with learning fundamental Flamenco movements that you can incorporate in to your belly dance routine to give it that Spanish gypsy flavor. You will learn Fan work, skirt techniques, turns, braseo (arm work), improvisation, combinations and much more. You will also be learning a choreography. Don't miss this opportunity to learn from ZiZi, all the way from Miami, Florida. She is one of the best in Flamenco and Arabic Fusion.

Tanna Valentine -- 1100am-12:pm. Veil Mechanics and Veil Dynamics: In this workshop, Bellydancer of the Universe 2008 Veil Champion Tanna Valentine will cover the essential “toolkit” of movements for polished, professional veilwork. After a review of proper posture and body alignment, veil wraps, stationary and traveling movements, turns and “tricks” will be explored. Tanna will weave these basic movements into more complex combinations as she highlights the artistic elements of veilwork. Internationally acclaimed Queen of Shimmies , JEHAN , will teach a sexy , shimmylicious Turkish pop choreography leading into a drum solo filled with the juicy sensuality we all crave. Workshop will include secrets, excellent hip technique , dynamics, theatricality, and stage presence. Come with our own charisma or learn it. A great routine for solo duets or large groups. (member of NYC’s Academy of Middle Eastern Dance Hall of Fame for performance and choreography) will teach technique and a new dance to George Abdo’s music “Hadouni” which she choreographed just for this Tribute! Shadia Tohme, MA, -- 1:00pm-2:30pm. will start with her popular, signature warm-up and the DANCE you through an entire Lebanese Style Oriental Routine that includes dramatic opening with veil, taqseem( beledi & instrumental ), drum solo, folkloric section and finale. She will familiarize you with all the rhythms used in this piece focusing on Soudasi and Chobi which give this routine it’s distinctly Lebanese flavor.
